Montero, Romine sent down by Yanks

Catchers Jesus Montero and Austin Romine were reassigned to Minor League camp, along with outfielders Colin Curtis and Reid Gorecki. Montero was 3-8 this spring, and is scheduled to start with the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees on opening day. Romine was 2-11 in grapfruit play, He is slated to begin the season at Double-A Trenton. Manager Joe Girardi said that the Yankees have a bright future ahead with both Montero and Romine in the chain. "They need to go play and mature and learn the finer points of catching and the pitcher-catcher relationship," Girardi said.

Jamie Hoffman heading back to LA

Jamie Hoffman who the Yankees acquired in exchange for Brian Bruney, has been returned after being taken in the Rule 5 Draft last summer by the Nationals. Hoffman will be heading to LA though, because Washington selected him and would've returned him to LA. It looks like the final right handed bench spot will go to Marcus Thames or Greg Golson.

If Opening Day was tomorrow for Mets

If Opening Day was tomorrow and the 25 man rosters had to be submitted, i think i might have a clue what the roster would be from the bullpen to the bench. I am going to be showing you what i think based on the Spring will be the 25 Opening Day Roster for the New York Mets.

I truly do believe this is what it will look like on Opening Day as you will start to hear more and more about Jerry Manuel assigning youngsters to camp. The Only Few Questions is for one if Reyes will start the season on the DL, and if he does i believe Ruben Tejada will start the season on the Bench. And the only other question is weather Jenrry Mejia will start the season with the Mets, again if i am Jerry Manuel i let him work on starting in the Minors we have K-Rod for the next few years, and you can find a setup man out of the blue but you cannot find an ace out of no where and that is what i believe we have in Mejia.

Moseley Optioned to Minor Leagues

The Yankees have reassigned the former Los Angeles Angel RHP Dustin Moseley to Minor League camp. He allowed eleven hits and seven runs in 6.1 innings this spring, he’ll fill a middle relief/swingman role for Triple-A Scranton. I don't feel Moseley would have able to make the team anyway, Girardi only has to decide between Logan and Ring for the 2nd lefty in the bullpen, and the final spot in the rotation will decide who finishes the strong pen out. There are now 48 players still in camp, 14 of whom are non-roster invitees.

Mets to release Josh Fogg

After signing with the Mets in January, the Mets have released 33 year old veteran pitcher Josh Fogg. Fogg did not pitch in a single game with the Mets this spring due to several injuries. Josh pitched with the with the Rockies in 09 with an ERA of 3.74 in 24 games.
