The New York Mets front office offered an advisor position to one of the greatest Mets pitchers in history, Dwight "Doc" Gooden. The position was mainly to speak to the young players within the Mets organization and talk to them about the difficulty of playing in New York.
Gooden Declined the offer due to his wife being nine monthes pregnant.
Dwight is expected to be inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame on August 1st along with Darryl Strawberry, Davey Johnson, and Frank Cashen.
