Mets Rotation Situation

Today during SNY's Daily News Live, Mets beat writer and announcer Kevin Burkhardt was a guest on the program. He said the Mets want and are preparing for as if Jonathon Niese will be the 5th starter come opening day, as they love his stuff. He also said they do not want to say it publicly, just indeed he suffers an injury setback in camp. The last thing he said was that if Niese is indeed the # 5 starter they would like to keep eiether Nieve or Figueroa on the 25 man roster, because if they do not make the team out of camp they will be let go because they are essentially out of options.
