Claimed by the New York Mets on January 8th off waivers from the Oakland Athletics, lefty Jay Marshall has not reported to camp yet. Rumors have it that Marshall has a pre-existing shoulder injury that could possibly sideline him. Due to the injury, the Mets would like the commissioners office to find out quickly weather the Mets can void his contract.
