There have been numerous reports that the Texas Rangers could be interested in Mets catcher Omir Santos, if the Mets decide to either trade or release him. Texas is still looking for a soild backup catcher behind Jarrod Saltalamacchia. With it looking like Rod Barajas will be the Mets starting catcher come April 4th, the Amazin's dont have that much use for Santos. They have a solid backup catcher in Henry Blanco, and the upcoming prospect Josh Thole. Santos is a good fit for Texas, who would replace the struggling backup Taylor Teagarden.
