PostGame, Yankees 3 Angels 5

New York Yankees(5-3)
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim(3-6)

WP: Joel Pineiro(1-1)
LP: Javier Vazquez(0-2)
S: Fernando Rodney(1)

Starters:

NYY--
Javier Vazquez
5.1 IP, 6 Hits, 4 Earned Runs, 2 Walks, 4 Strikeouts

LAA-- Joel Pineiro
7.0 IP, 5 Hits, 1 Earned Run, 7 Strikeouts

Pitching:
Taking the mound for the second time in 2010 didn't look any better then the first time. Javier Vazquez never settled in and as a result of that took his second loss of the season & bolstered his ERA to 9.82. During the Post Game, manager Joe Girardi said Javier did not look comfortable, but he is not concerned yet & said that he truly believes he will get it going. Speaking about the bullpen now, the Yankees pen look decent despite Alfredo Aceves giving up one run in 1.2 inning. Following Vazquez & Aceves, Joba Chamberlain & Damaso Marte threw scoreless innings, and Marte looked awesome.

Offense:
For the most part today the Yanks offense was pretty quiet. Only two multi hit games on the part of Derek Jeter & Robinson Cano. Nick Swisher also put a good piece of the bat on the ball as he ripped his first triple of the 2010 campaign.

Offensive Box Score:

1. SS Derek Jeter, 2-4, 1 RUN
2. DH Nick Johnson, 1-4, 2 K, 1 RBI(4)
3. 1B Mark Teixeira, 0-4, 1 K, 1 RBI(4)
4. 3B Alex Rodriguez, 0-3, 3 K, 1 Walk
5. 2B Robinson Cano, 2-4, 1 RUN, 2B
6. C Jorge Posada, 1-4, 1 K
7. CF Curtis Granderson, 0-4
8. RF Nick Swisher, 1-4, 1 K, 1 RBI(4)
9. LF Brett Gardner, 0-3, 1 RUN, 1 Walk

The Yankees will play their final game of their 3 game series with the Angels tomorrow night as Phil Hughes will start for the first time in 2010 and he will be opposed by former Mets farmhand Scott Kazmir starting at 7:05 PM, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
