The Phillie's claimed Nelson Figueroa off waivers from the Mets on today. The former Phillie is expected to join the big league club. Figueroa was out of options, he went into Spring Training competing for a spot in the Mets rotation and was having a great camp until he gave up seven runs in one inning against the Marlins on March 26, not making the 25-man roster and being placed on waivers. He will make the Phillie's club, either taking starter Joe Blanton's spot who is currently on the DL, or relief pitchers J.C. Romero or Brad Lidge who are also hurt.
