The Yankees and Tigers do battle this afternoon. The story of the day is Joba Chamberlain's return to a relief role, but I'm also interested to see how Marcus Thames does against left-handed pitching. He singled in his first at-bat last night against Jamie Moyer and the Yankees want to give him the opportunity to keep logging at-bats, since they envision him as a right-handed power bat off the bench and a possible platoon guy.
