Who is Jon Weber?

Weber an out fielder in the Yankees organization, was originally signed by the Cincinnati Reds as a non-drafted free agent in August of 1999. In July 2003 he had his contract bought out by the Oakland Athletics organization. He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2004 after becoming a free agent, and played in their organization, reaching as high as Triple-A. He signed as a minor league free agent with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006, but by the 2007 season he was back in independent league ball. However, he was again purchased, this time by the Texas Rangers on June 4, 2007. After spending a month with the Rangers organization, Weber was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays on July 16, 2007 in exchange for cash considerations. He signed with the New York Yankees organization on November 25, 2009, and was invited to Spring Training. So far Weber is turning some heads this spring, in 12 games and 21 at bats, he has 12 hits, which is a 571 AVG, with 5 RBI's and a 1,333 OPS. I am looking forward to seeing what Weber brings to this organization, because so far he his looking great.
