With veteran Rod Barajas being the opening day catcher for the Mets, and Henry Blanco having a nice spring earning the backup spot, it leaves Omir Santos out of the mix. Probably the No. 2 catcher, behind Josh Thole, in Buffalo, but there is always the posibllity of trade. Knowing the Mets there is a chance of injury, and one to either catchers on the 25 man roster, will require the call-up of a catcher. Josh Thole is expected to have a full devolpment year in the minors without interuption. The obivious way to avoid this is to keep Santos and anyway, you are not going to get much of an improvment in a trade for Santos at any position. So we will see but im expecting Santos to be in a Bisons uniform opening day.
