Nelson Figueroa to make the team?

Nelson Figueroa had pitched in 3 games, while allowing no runs in 8 innings of work this Spring, prior to yesterdays outing. Figueroa took on the Florida Marlins yesterday and was roughed up, being charged with 7 earned runs over 2.2 innings pitched. Many thought that Figueroa, who was fighting for a spot on the team, his time with the Mets might of been done after his performance yesterday. Following the game yesterday, Jerry Manuel told reporters that he enjoys the fact that Nelson can go out and throw 3 innings mostly every day if needed to, and that he throws strikes and thats key. If not on the Opening Day roster come April 5th he will be released, as Figueroa is out of options.
Well i have said from the get go, i want Nelson on this team, he has such poise and commitment when he takes the mound. He also has great veteran leadership, and as Jerry explains is a versatile pitcher that you can throw out there almost every day.
