Who is Chris Carter?

Chris Carter who is 27 years old was born in California in 1982. Carter was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 17th round of the 2004 MLB Draft. After moving very quickly to the AAA Arizona club, he asked for a trade, and at that point was sent to the Washington Nationals in 2007 for Emiliano Fruto, then shortly after was dealt to the Red Sox. After GM of the Red Sox Theo Epstein sent Willy Mo Pena to the Nationals for a player to be named later, subsequently he was the player no be named later and towards the end of that season was placed on Bostons 40 man roster. In 2009, The Red Sox sent Chris Carter who was having a nice season in Pawtucket Triple AAA to the Mets in exchange for future Hall of Fame closer Billy Wagner.
Chris Carter made his way on to New York's 40 man roster, and now finds himself in a position to possibly make the big league club. He is a versatile player as he can play most any outfield positions along with a solid first base.
Carter played his first game on the 2nd of March and went 0-1, then on the 4th he got his first Mets hit and went 1-2. During the Mets 11-2 win over Florida on Monday, Chris Carter found his way into a very selective group as he hit two homeruns in the same inning, to really open coaches eyes, as the season approaches. During Todays Mets game, Carter hit another home run his 3rd of the preseason, along with a double and is now 5 for 8 this Spring. Carter is currently competing with Ike Davis, Mike Jacobs and Frank Cattalantto for the final bench spot to open up the 2010 campaign.
