Could the 1st base job be up for Grabs? If it is the number of players competing is now down to 3. The Mets number one offensive prospect first basemen Ike Davis who tore it up this spring has been sent to Minor League camp according to numerous sources. Davis, who in 12 games this spring hit .480 with 3 home runs and 10 RBI. Davis was trying to compete with Daniel Murphy who is currently slotted to be starting Opening Day, Mike Jacobs, and Chris Carter for the 1st base job.
I am glad i saw him this spring and see what we have in the Minors and now i cannot wait to see him mid season or full time in 2011.
