Amazin's grab Acosta from waivers

The Mets have claimed veteran right-handed reliever Manny Acosta on waivers from the Braves. He has been assigned to the Bisons in minor league camp.Acosta, 28, has spent the last seven years in the Braves system after being signed as a free agent. Last year, Acosta split time between Atlanta and the Gwinnett Braves. He was 1-3 with a 2.63ERA and two saves in 18 relief appearances for Gwinnett and 1-1 with a 4.34ERA in 36 games with Atlanta. It is going to be interesting to see if Acosta plays a role in the Mets bullpen this year. He is going to start the season in Buffalo in 14 days, but is a nice weapon to have in the minors if any injury occurs.
